From 1 Timothy 2

O God, you want everyone to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth that is in Christ Jesus: we bring to you our prayers, our requests and our thanksgivings for those in authority and for all our people: asking that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life, that among us there may be right living and reverence for you, our God and saviour. Amen.

From Psalm 85

Lord God, you have been merciful to our land, and have made us prosperous in the past:
bring us back to faith, O God our saviour.

You have forgiven us our sins and pardoned our wrongdoing: make us strong again; show us your constant love and give us your saving grace:
bring us back to faith, O God our saviour.

Help us to listen to your word and leave our foolish ways; that we might receive your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
