Jesus, Lord of earth and heaven

Jesus, Lord of earth and heaven,
we draw near to you today;
yours the life that will sustain us,
you're our strength, to you we pray:
when we take the bread and wine, Lord,
hearts are thankful, minds recall
your great love exceeding all loves -
love that reaches out to all.

Sovereign Lord of earth and heaven,
you have loved us to the end;
you have shed your life-blood for us,
you are Saviour, God and Friend:
when we take the bread and wine, Lord,
you are real to faith's embrace;
we believe you died to save us,
fill us all with love and grace.

Gracious Lord of earth and heaven,
from our sinful ways we turn;
may your Holy Spirit fill us,
cause your servants' hearts to burn:
when we take the bread and wine, Lord,
make us strong and make us true;
fill our hearts with your compassion;
send us out to live for you.
