For leader and congregation. Words in bold type are sung by all.

I love the Lord because he heard my voice:
the Lord in mercy listened to my prayers.

Because the Lord has turned his ear to me:
I'll call on him as long as I shall live.

The cords of death entangled me around:
the horrors of the grave came over me.

But then I called upon the Lord my God:
I said to him, 'O Lord, I beg you, save!'

The Lord our God is merciful and good:
the Lord protects the simple-hearted ones.

The Lord saved me from death and stopped my tears:
he saved me from defeat and picked me up.

And so I walk before him all my days:
and live to love and praise his holy name.

What shall I give the Lord for all his grace?
I'll offer him my sacrifice of praise.

Praise the Lord: Amen. Amen.
