1 Jesus, you are welcome
Jesus, our dear Lord;
from home in farthest heaven
you come, adored.
Life on earth so brief beginning,
Christ, eternal Word!
From the bells of heaven
what welcoming is poured!
Have mercy, Lord.

2 Shepherds on the hillside
hear the angels' song;
it tells them of a Saviour
awaited long:
'Go along the streets to find him,
down among the throng,
baby born of Mary
to save us from all wrong.'
Have mercy, Lord.

3 Wise men in the dawn-light
come with eastern gold,
with sweetest myrrh and incense
for Christ to hold.
Bowed before the holy child
they see him long foretold,
Jesus Christ who makes us all
welcome in his fold.
Have mercy, Lord!
