1 Bring songs of joy to God the Lord
who saves and keeps you by his word;
bring all your skill to harp and lyre,
delight the Lord with purest sound;
let music high to heaven rebound,
your praising hearts a joyful choir.

2 The Lord's own word is right and true,
unfaithful deeds he will not do;
his justice, righteousness and love
flow freely from his gracious hand,
enriching life till all the land
reveals a holy treasure trove.

3 By merest breath he brought to birth
the starlit skies about the earth;
to him, the oceans vast and wild
are in their raging little more
than water gathered in a store
or given to a thirsty child.

4 Come, fear the Lord! Hope in his love,
revere his word, his mercy prove;
then you will know his power to save,
to overrule the evil plan.
His watching eyes, since earth began,
care for the lives whose breath he gave.

5 With songs of joy to God the Lord
who saves and keeps us by his word
we bring our voices, harp and lyre
whose music shall to heaven rebound.
We trust in God: in him is found
true love that sets our hearts on fire.
